The Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has announced a rescheduling of its 18th convocation ceremony.
Initially planned for May 30th and 31st, 2024, the event will now take place solely on May 31st, 2024. This adjustment comes in response to the Federal Government’s appointment of new Governing Council members, who are to be inaugurated in Abuja on May 30th, 2024.
In a press release dated May 22, 2024, the Office of the Vice-Chancellor explained that the presence of the University Management at the inauguration ceremony in Abuja made it necessary to condense the convocation activities into a single day.
Consequently, all events, including undergraduate and postgraduate ceremonies, the awarding of honorary degrees, and the convocation lecture, will now occur on May 31st, 2024.
Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, Special Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor (Public Relations and Special Duties), expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by this schedule change and emphasized the importance of disregarding any other conflicting information not issued by the University.
The University Management urges all graduands, friends of the University, the University Community, and the general public to take note of this updated schedule and adjust their plans accordingly.
