President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Shehu Mohammed as the new Corps Marshal and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
The appointment was confirmed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, dated May 20th, 2024.
The official communication stated that Mohammed’s appointment is in accordance with Section 7 (1) of the Federal Road Safety Commission Act, 2007, and takes immediate effect from May 20th, 2024.
Shehu Mohammed succeeds Dauda Ali Biu as the head of the FRSC, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his previous role as Assistant Corps Marshal.
His tenure as Corps Marshal is set for an initial period of four years, aligning with the statutory provisions governing the commission.
The FRSC is responsible for ensuring road safety and enforcing traffic regulations across Nigeria.
