MMA2 Makes History with Nigeria’s First Airport Wedding

In a groundbreaking event that merges romance with the dynamic atmosphere of air travel, Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) in Lagos is set to host Nigeria’s first-ever airport wedding today, June 29, 2024.

The ceremony, scheduled to take place at the terminal’s ticketing hall, aims not only to celebrate love but also to showcase MMA2 as a hub for innovative experiences beyond flight operations.

The soon-to-be-married couple, Alli Olamide Miracle and Agboola Abiodun Qudus, will exchange their vows amidst the backdrop of departing and arriving flights, surrounded by their families, friends, and well-wishers.

Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, Head of Corporate Communications at Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), expressed excitement about the pioneering event dubbed ‘My Airport Wedding.’

She said, “We are people of love; we love our passengers, we love our terminal users, and in our little way of proving this, we are giving a bride the opportunity to have her dream wedding.

“We are thrilled to pioneer this unique event at MMA2. It’s a testament to our commitment to innovation and creating memorable experiences for our passengers and terminal users.”

She further elaborated on the significance of the initiative, stating, “In line with our dedication to innovation, we constantly create activities and initiatives that help us achieve our goal of being more than a terminal for flying from one destination to another.

“This dynamic mindset is one of the reasons we have stayed at the top of the game.”

The event, expected to draw attention from both local and international audiences, showcases Nigeria’s growing prominence in the global aviation sector.

MMA2, Nigeria’s first and only privately-funded airport, operated by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited.

The organisers say the event will not only celebrate the union of two individuals but also highlight MMA2’s capability to innovate and host unique events that transcend traditional airport functions.
