Officers and men of 1 Division Nigerian Army stationed in Kaduna apprehended 47 suspected rail track vandals during the week.

A statement issued by the army on Saturday said the arrests occurred during a routine patrol along the Kakau Daji- Anguwan Ayaba route, where the suspects were caught in the act of loading vandalized rail tracks onto trucks.

According to the Acting Commander of 1 Division Provost Group, Lt Col IY Rena, initial investigations revealed that the suspects were employed by Alhaji Babawo, who remains at large, to carry out these illicit activities.

Speaking at the parade of the suspects at 312 Artillery Regiment Kaduna, Lt Col Rena emphasized the gravity of the crime and detailed efforts underway to apprehend the gang leader.
