A stage play, ‘Abibatu Mogaji: An Opera,’  was staged in honour of President Bola Tinubu’s late mother, Hajiya Abibatu Mogaji, at the State House Conference Centre on Tuesday.

The event was attended by the President, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and other dignitaries.

It showcased the life and legacy of Mogaji, who passed away on June 15, 2013, at the age of 96.

Describing his mother as a pillar of strength and discipline, President Tinubu credited her with instilling in him the values of resilience and determination.

He fondly recalled her unwavering support during his formative years, attributing much of his success to her guidance and care.

The President expressed gratitude to the Executive Producer, Ola Awakan, and Director, Dr. Ahmed Yerima, for their meticulous portrayal of his mother’s life in the play.

He commended the production team for their thorough research and accurate depiction of her character and achievements.

President Tinubu’s son, Seyi, extended appreciation on behalf of the family for the poignant tribute to his grandmother, acknowledging the efforts of the production team in immortalising her legacy.

Awakan expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to stage the play at the Presidential Villa, underscoring the President’s unwavering support for the arts.
