The Katsina State Police Command has reminded the citizens of the state that its 24 hours and 12 hours curfews in some parts of the state are still in force.

The command also reiterated its commitment to enforcing the state government’s ban on all forms of protest and unlawful assembly, as well as the curfew.

This announcement was made in a series of tweets from the official Katsina State Police Command’s X.com account, emphasizing the importance of these measures in maintaining public safety and order.

The curfew, which remains in effect, includes a 24-hour restriction in Dutsinma Local Government Area (LGA) and a 12-hour restriction from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. in the remaining 33 LGAs of the state.

This stringent measure is aimed at preventing further escalation of violence, vandalism, and looting of both private and public properties, which have been of significant concern since the beginning of the #EndBadGovernance protests.

According to the command, the primary objective of these restrictions is to prevent any further disturbances that could threaten the peace and security of Katsina State.

The command also stressed that these measures were necessary to curb potential unrest and safeguard the lives and properties of residents.

“The Command remains committed to enforcing this ban while ensuring that peace and order are restored in the state,” stated ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Katsina State Police Command.

In his statement, ASP Aliyu called on the residents of Katsina State to cooperate fully with the police and other security agencies in their efforts to maintain stability.

“Your understanding and compliance are crucial to maintaining the safety and security of the state,” he emphasized.

The police urged parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against engaging in activities that violate the law and to encourage them to remain law-abiding citizens.

While the command assured the public that they could continue their lawful activities within the confines of the law, it also issued a stern warning against any violations of the ban on protests and unlawful assemblies.

“We encourage everyone to remain calm and go about their lawful activities within the confines of the law, as we will not hesitate to take decisive action against anyone who violates this ban,” the statement read.

During the protest, hoodlums attacked the Living Faith Church and Deeper Life Church, highlights a disturbing trend of violence during the #EndBadGovernance protests.

Pastor David Jato of the Living Faith Church reported that the hoodlums, who arrived in tricycles, broke into the church and stole various items.
