In a solemn ceremony recently, the Nigerian Navy gifted the widow of a fallen sailor a bungalow in a quiet estate in Abuja.

On August 13, 2023, Leading Regulator Suleiman MK lost his life in service under Operation Whirl Stroke in Niger State, a security operation aimed at addressing the complex security challenges in the North Central region of Nigeria.

The two-bedroom bungalow was presented to Suleiman’s widow, also a member of the Nigerian Navy, at the Navy Estate in Karshi, Abuja.

A statement from the Navy says the gesture was part of the Nigerian Navy’s broader welfare initiative under the leadership of Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla.

The bungalow presentation was officiated by Rear Admiral Mohammed Yakubu Dahiru, Director of Veteran Affairs.
