Lagos: Train Crushes Man Walking Along Railway Track

On Monday, a tragic accident in Lagos State claimed the life of a man who was struck and killed by a train while walking along the railway track.

The man, who was described as half-dressed by eyewitnesses, died instantly. His identity has not been determined yet.

The incident took place at approximately 6 p.m. in the Cappa area, near the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) response base

The man, who has not yet been identified, was walking along the railway track when he was hit by an oncoming train. The force of the collision caused his immediate death.

Nosa Okunbor, the Head of the Public Affairs Unit at LASEMA, confirmed the incident in a statement.

He explained that the LASEMA Eagle Response Team was dispatched to the scene following a distress call about the train accident. Upon arrival, the team found the man’s body on the railway tracks.

Okunbor said, “In response to a distress alert about the train accident along the railway line opposite the LASEMA Response Base in Cappa at around 6 p.m., the agency activated its Eagle Response Team.

“Upon arrival, the team found an adult male walking along the railway track, who had died immediately due to the impact of the collision.”

He further added, “The remains of the adult male’s body have been bagged by the Agency’s Response team while awaiting the arrival of the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) officials. The body will be transported to the morgue.”
