Patience Umo Eno, the first lady of Akwa Ibom State, has died after a brief illness.
Her passing was confirmed early Friday morning by Ini Ememobong, the state commissioner for information.
Patience Eno died on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in a hospital surrounded by her family.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno,” the commissioner stated.
She reportedly passed away peacefully while her loved ones were by her side.
The statement highlighted the family’s sorrow, saying, “The family submits to the will of the Almighty and asks for prayers and support during this difficult time.”
Governor Umo Eno expressed his deep appreciation to everyone who has supported the family.
“His Excellency, the Governor, assures all citizens that despite this huge personal loss, his commitment to the service of the state is unwavering,” the commissioner added.
Governor Umo Eno’s statement emphasized the importance of privacy for the family during this time.
“The family kindly requests privacy as they mourn their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother,” he said.
