“We must not allow our mistakes to follow us into the future,” he urged.

“Our choice is clear: reform for progress or business as usual,” he stated, indicating the path forward for his administration.
On security, the President announced that the government is making strides in the fight against terrorism and banditry.
“Our target is to eliminate all threats from Boko Haram, bandits, and kidnappers,” he declared.
He revealed that over 300 Boko Haram and bandit commanders have been eliminated in the past year.
“Peace has returned to many communities,” he said, allowing thousands of citizens to return home.
Tinubu emphasized the importance of restoring peace to enable farmers to return to their fields.
“This will lead to increased food production and lower food prices,” he assured.
He also addressed recent flooding incidents in Nigeria, promising government support.
“After visiting affected areas, I can assure you that we stand with our people during difficult times,” he said.
The President announced the establishment of a Disaster Relief Fund to support affected communities.
He stated that integrity tests on dams would be conducted to prevent future disasters.
Moving on to the economy, Tinubu spoke about reforms aimed at attracting investment.
“Our administration attracted over $30 billion in foreign investments last year,” he revealed.
He highlighted the importance of a favorable business environment.
“We are committed to free enterprise and reducing the tax burden,” he said.
He mentioned the upcoming approval of the ExxonMobil Seplat divestment, expected to boost oil production.
“This will positively impact our economy,” he noted.
Tinubu also addressed foreign exchange stability, stating that the Central Bank is taking necessary measures.
“Our foreign reserves are currently at $37 billion,” he confirmed.
Despite challenges, the government is committed to meeting all financial obligations.
He announced the approval of Economic Stabilization Bills aimed at improving the business climate.
“These bills will stimulate investment and reduce the tax burden,” he explained.
He also promised to implement the Supreme Court judgment on local government autonomy.
“The high cost of living is a concern for many, and we are taking steps to address it,” he stated.
He praised governors who are working with the federal government on agricultural programs.
“I urge all states to invest in mechanized farming,” he added.
The government is supplying fertilizers and farm equipment to boost local production.
Tinubu announced plans to establish a local assembly plant for farm machinery within six months.
He emphasized the need for energy transition and the use of Compressed Natural Gas for public transport.
“We are ready to assist states in acquiring CNG buses for cheaper transportation,” he said.
The President highlighted the link between peace and economic growth.
“Our economy can only thrive when there is stability,” he explained.
He also addressed youth involvement in nation-building.
“Our young people make up over 60 percent of our population,” he noted, stressing their importance in shaping the future.
Tinubu announced a National Youth Conference to address challenges faced by young Nigerians.
“This conference will empower youth to participate in nation-building,” he stated.
The event will focus on critical issues like education, employment, and social justice.
“It is crucial that their aspirations are central to our policies,” he said.
The government is also implementing several programs to support young people.
“We have launched the Nigerian Education Loan Fund to assist students,” he added.
Tinubu announced the upcoming launch of the Renewed Hope Labour Employment and Empowerment Programme.
“This program aims to create 2.5 million jobs annually,” he said, focusing on worker welfare and safety.
He concluded his speech by expressing optimism for the future.
