Kano Hisbah Clears Jigawa Commissioner In Adultery Scandal

Share

In a dramatic turn of events, Auwal Sankara, Jigawa State’s Commissioner of Special Duties, has been cleared of misconduct allegations by the Kano State Hisbah Board.

This follows widespread social media claims that Sankara was involved in immoral behavior with a married woman, Tasleem Baba Nabegu.

Malam Aliyu Dakata, an official with the Hisbah Board, has retracted his earlier statement that sparked the viral accusations.

In a recent interview, Dakata clarified that Sankara had not engaged in any inappropriate activity.

“When we arrived at the scene, we found Tasleem making a phone call in her car, while Sankara stood in the compound of a building under construction,” Dakata explained.

“There was no evidence of any illicit relationship,” he added, directly contradicting the earlier narrative that had circulated online.

The allegations against Sankara first emerged on social media, where they quickly gained traction.

Rumours had suggested that Sankara was caught in an inappropriate situation with Tasleem, a married woman.

This claim spread rapidly, causing public outrage and leading to Sankara’s suspension from his government role.

The scandal rocked Jigawa State, with many calling for swift action against the commissioner.

However, as the facts of the case began to emerge, it became clear that the accusations were unfounded.

Hisbah Board’s Malam Dakata, who initially made the allegations, has now publicly withdrawn his claims, absolving Sankara of any wrongdoing.

The legal team representing Tasleem also came forward to set the record straight.

Barrister Rabiu Shuaibu, Tasleem’s lawyer, explained that the accusations were baseless.

He revealed that Tasleem has been estranged from her husband for over 10 months, following domestic violence issues.

“Tasleem has been separated from her husband for over 10 months and has been supporting her children by running a business,” Shuaibu said.

He also explained that on the day of the alleged incident, Tasleem was merely delivering food to Sankara, who had placed an order.

Unbeknownst to her, her estranged husband had been tracking her movements.

“Tasleem had no idea that her husband was monitoring her. She was only delivering food to Sankara as part of her business,” Shuaibu stated.

These revelations have further debunked the allegations against Sankara.

Reacting to the scandal, Auwal Sankara condemned the claims as politically motivated and entirely false.

He maintained that the accusations were part of an effort to tarnish his reputation.

“These allegations are false and malicious,” Sankara declared.

“I have the utmost respect for the institution of marriage and would never engage in such behavior,” he said, expressing his frustration at the false narrative that had spread.

Sankara also hinted that political enemies might be behind the smear campaign.

“This is a deliberate attempt to destroy my reputation,” he added.
